Beschreibung

Description
Fol. 1r, ln. 9 of the Libera me, Domini parts (A-SF20-63) has an anonymous pencil annotation in a foreign hand: “Handschrift H. Haybäcks”.1 Haybäck lived from 1863 to 1933 and was a teacher in St. Florian from 1882 until 1906. From then until his death in 1933 he served as monastery organist.
He was a good friend of Bruckner and sang tenor and played cello in the monastery Musikkapelle.
See also Bernhard Deubler.
For more copyists from St. Florian, see Table 3.
- 1The author is grateful to Dr. Friedrich Buchmayr, librarian in St. Florian, who informed him that the reference was probably to Hans Haybäck, formally known as “Johann”.
